Midlands Dog Rescue

Giving Every Dog a Second Chance

About Us

Our family run rescue have worked caring and rescuing of dogs for over 10 years. Volenteering, assessing and supporting rescue's until we decided the best way to help more of these lovely animals was to start our own rescue.
Our aim is to help in the never ending struggle of securing rescue placements for Dogs in need. Midlands Dog Rescue succeeded in this by setting up a foster based rescue, this means that the dogs we help would go straight into a home environment to be assessed.
At Midlands Dog Rescue we help to rehabilitate and rehome dogs from a variety of backgrounds. Our focus is to help dogs in need, that have found themselves homeless and in need of rehoming.
We operate a strict no kill policy, unless given categorically no choice by professional medical services.
We work in the Midlands but are not limited to or defined by an area, we go where we are needed and try to provide support wherever we can.

Foster Care

Our dogs are homed in foster care whilst assessed and cared for during the transitional period to rehoming. Full support is given to our foster homes throughout the stay, giving us time to look for the perfect home. We do not kennel dogs and believe the love and warmth of a foster home provides the perfect preparation for full adoption

Medical Care

All of our dogs go straight to our Veterinary surgery for a full heath check before being placed in foster homes. We ensure that all dogs in our care receive necessary medical attention, including vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and any required treatments.

Adoption Assistance

We provide guidance and support for individuals and families looking to adopt a dog. Our team helps match the right dog with the right family. Full rescue back up is given throughout the dogs life meaning we are here to support and advise our dogs new family. Every effort is made to ensure a healthy and happy life for your new family member.

How we work
Here at Midlands Dog Rescue we rescue dogs from local authority pounds or companies that operate the
kennels on their behalf.
Stray or unwanted dogs find themselves in these establishments via trained local dog wardens who look after the dog for the regulated 7 day period before being released into rescue and rehoming centres.
During that period the dogs are tested for any serious health concerns and given welfare checks on a daily basis to ensure the dogs that are released are of sound temperament.
Once we receive the dog our veterinary surgery preform a heath check and we give the dogs the recommended medical care to ensure they are ready to go into a checked and thoroughly vetted foster home.
Foster homes give us the time to further assess our dogs in a home environment so we can successfully determine who and what is required from a forvever home. Communicating daily with our foster homes helps us understand the dog’s needs, likes and dislikes and really helps us formulate a future plan for the dog in need.
Our forever homes are selected via a thorough home check and a supervised meet with the dog, placing dogs in forever homes is our goal and we take this step very seriously and endeavour to always placed the
right dog with the right home.
We pay for the care of our dogs via donations and our adoption fees.
Our adoption fees are:
£375 for dogs up to the age of 8 years old
From £250 for dogs over 8 years of age

We would like to thank everyone that helps us achieve our goals.
Adoption Process
Our Dog Adoption Process – Midlands Dog Rescue

We’re so pleased you’re considering giving one of our lovely dogs a second chance at life, and selected your preference.
Here’s how our adoption process works:

1. Adoption Application - Start by completing our online adoption form. This helps us get to know you, your lifestyle, and what kind of dog would best suit your home.

2. Home Check - Once we receive your application, we’ll arrange a home check – either in person or virtually. This is to ensure your home is safe, secure, and suitable for a dog. We’re also here to answer any questions you have at this stage!

3. Meet & Greet - If the home check is successful and we think we have a match, we’ll invite you to meet the dog. This is your chance to see if there’s a bond and for us to see how you interact.

4. Adoption Contract & Fee - If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we’ll ask you to complete our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. This fee helps cover our rescue costs including vet care, vaccinations, microchipping, and more.
Our mimum adoption donation of £375 for dogs under 8 years of age and £250 for dogs over 8 is applicable. All of our dogs come with a full set-up and rescue support for life.

5. Adoption Day! - Your new companion will come home with you to start their wonderful new life. We’ll stay in touch and offer lifetime support — once a Midlands dog, always a Midlands dog.

Please complete the form honestly and in full. We will aim to contact everyone who completes the form, where suitable home checks will be arranged. Missing information may result in not being contacted.
Our minimum adoption donation of £375 is applicable to all dogs under the age of 8 years, £250 for dogs over the age of 8. All of our dogs come with a full set up and rescue back up for life.
We would like to thank you for your interest in Midlands Dog Rescue and adopting a rescue dog.
